CATCH UP WITH OUR LATEST RELEASES MYTHOLOGY OF A CITY: GHOST DOG STREETS Every city’s streets maintain the accumulation of stories of the people that have walked through them. Bridges, empty alleyways, corners and ripped back sides all hide within them stories untold, invisible to the everyday person. Ghost Dog Streets is a song and a video about the streets of Bogota, Colombia and the haunting stories within its streets. ULTRAVIOLENT ROCK BLASTS THE WEST COAST OF THE US DANTE is currently playing their first tour in the United States entitled ‘The ultra violent tour 2017’. As a companion to this tour, the band has compiled a group of songs from all the albums released so far: songs off ‘The Rorschach Manifesto’ , ‘Gunblade Blues volume I’ and the ongoing ‘Gunblade Blues Volume II’ into a single entity they have decided to call ‘ULTRAVIOLENT Blast!’ WHEN VERSAILLES IS UPSTAIRS, THE INFERNO’S DOWN THE BASEMENT ROOM “Upstairs was fantastic, like Versailles. But down in the basement…it was Dante’s inferno.” With these words, Keith Richards described the experience of recording an album at the vialla Nellcôte , a mansion in the south of France where The Rolling Stones exiled during their times of financial trouble with the English government. DANTE’s new single and accompanying video “Les Cowboys” is inspired in this chaotic time that the Stones lived through. Miguel Mejia, close friend of the band and the video’s director recreated a scene of chaos where a party mayhem revolves around the song and the band. DARKNESS FOREVER In ‘Turbovixen’ five denim clad women play a savage and frenetic dose of rock n roll to men solely devoted to them. The band’s singer undresses and spits at the camera. The guitar players kiss passionately. The drummer showers her bandmates in alcohol. Each one sports a different hat while they play balls out punk rock about fighting, sex, destruction and being fed up. DANTE HAS A NEW RACE CAR: DRIVEN BY TORETO! Twenty police patrols and forty uniformed policemen were needed to stop Ivan Dario Becerra, aka ‘Toreto’ a homeless man that grabbed the headlines of all the major news outlets after he stole a dump truck because in his own words, his heart told him to do so. Maybe what was driving his heart during that fast and furious moment was Motley Crue’s song “Kickstart my heart” because, in the end, isn’t rock n roll the type of music that whispers in our ears when we are moved to take brash & reckless decisions, the type that go against any rules appointed? ‘DOWN THE PATH THE SHAMAN SHOWED’ Gunblade Blues II opens up a new cycle of songs for DANTE. The song, just as the video that comes with it are an introduction to the both musical & visual work that the band will be releasing during 2017. Half teaser trailer of what’s coming, half new video Gunblade Blues II is a mishmash of kaleidoscopic images that speak to each other, all part of a world that DANTE has been building ever since it started its career. In this video, images of both the band’s influences and past songs melt into each other , collide and explode into a labyrinthian path where every new turn provides an image that represents a new song to come. The song itself is an answer to an older, sister song called ‘Gunblade Blues’ from a past album. But where the latter was a ferocious song that moved at demonic speed , the former is its own opposite: prayer like, a bluesy mantra that repeats and contracts throughout the whole song like an ancient chant to old and dark forgotten gods. Its a prayer to ancient legends of rock n roll, to ouija boards as maps out of purgatory, to the ultraviolence of Anthony Burgess and to the cold, dark streets of Bogota. ENDING CYCLES: THE COMING GUNBLADE BLUES VOL 2 Every vinyl collector knows there’s two sides to a record. Side A & Side B. Anyone who ever heard records on casette also knows you finish listening to one side when you need to turn it over and listen to the other side. The rock band DANTE is announcing a trailer for the second half of their album ‘Gunblade Blues’ which will be arriving this 24th of February to ignite a new year filled with rock n roll and high to low artistic ventures. This is the third full length album of the band, taking the name of ‘Gunblade Blues volume 2’ which ends the conceptual ventures of its predecessor ‘Gunblade Blues volume 1’. “It was always our intention to create a whole universe that was both musical and visual. For this album we took as inspiration the movies Kill Bill volume 1 & Kill Bill volume 2 where volume 1 is basically a samurai movie with western echoes while volume 2 is a western movie with samurai echoes. In the case of our album Gunblade Blues volume 1 is a mystical album with violent echoes, while volume 2 is a violent album with mystical echoes.” -Kami Rayne, lead singer of the band The trailer that will start the cycle of the year where the band will showcase a new song along with its visual counterpart every month of 2017. Besides this announcement the band is already planning an international tour that will involve their home country of Colombia, the US & probably Mexico.
